Providing the help survivors of domestic violence need in Humboldt Park and across Chicago
The Humboldt Park Outreach Program (HPOP) focuses its bilingual services on adults and children living in the community to increase their safety, self-esteem, and better understand the resources available to assist them.
HPOP provides a full range of bilingual and bicultural (Spanish/English) core domestic violence services on a walk-in or appointment basis.
We are a community based counseling outreach program for those victims of domestic violence who either have left shelter and begun independent living or have not yet made the decision to leave their abuser.
A team of professionals provides advocacy and support services including but not limited to:
- Crisis intervention
- Counseling
- Safety planning
- Information and referral and legal advocacy on an individual as well as group basis.
- Enhanced child services
These child services include assessment, safety planning, individualized treatment plans, individual therapy and family therapy. Education about violence and abuse, as well as self-esteem building exercises, strengthen a child’s coping skills.
Together, we can break the cycle of domestic abuse.
